3 Simple Stress Management Techniques Every Event Planner Should Consider

Managing stress can be a huge success factor in every Event Planner’s career. Managing events means dealing with constant change in stressful environments, which can make it difficult, or sometimes impossible, to relax, wind down and recharge for the next assignment. Every event has moments that overwhelm, and situations where event managers could use some help. Here are three effective techniques to manage anxiety, reduce stress and increase your overall well-being.

Go Out and Walk

Managing events keeps you on your feet and can prove to be physically draining. The last thing on an event planner’s mind is to work out or exercise. However, research has consistently shown that taking an outdoor walk for 30 minutes a day can dramatically relieve your stress levels. Next time you want to unwind, take a short walk outdoors and you’ll immediately notice a distinct shift in your stress levels and an overall feeling of calm.

Stress relief usually turns to binge eating and consuming high-calorie, sugar rich foods. Be mindful and keep focus on attention to what you are eating through the day. Plan for several small, healthy and nutritious meals throughout your entire day and make sure you include wholesome fruits and vegetables, even as you  reduce or eliminate refined sugar and packaged snacks.

A time tested mindfulness and relaxation technique is meditation. Pick a consistent time and place to meditate everyday. Meditation can be in a variety of forms, such as breathing based or simply listening to soft music and letting your mind relax for 10 to 15 minutes everyday. Find an approach that you feel works best for you, and the key is being consistent and dedicating time for meditation every single day.

These simple yet effective changes can have a tremendous impact on your stress levels. Try them out today and our wish for you is a stress free and joyful event planning career.
